What To Expect When You See a Nutritionist

Initial Consultation and Nutrition Plan

Initial consultation includes:

  • A complete health, lifestyle and dietary analysis. Upon booking your consultation, we will ask you to fill an online Health Questionnaire. Your Nutritionist will use the questionnaire as a base for further investigation of your medical history, medications, diet and lifestyle. Your Nutritionist will use this information to put together a personalised nutrition plan.
  • Analysis of any recent blood test results you may have (during the appointment).
  • An explanation of my understanding of your health concerns
  • Discussion of foods that may be contributing to your symptoms
  • Suggestions of foods that may help alleviate your symptoms
  • Personalised nutrition plan (emailed to you within 7 days)
  • Supplement recommendations (if needed)
  • Lifestyle recommendations (if needed)
  • Recommendations for laboratory tests (if needed)

When it comes to your health, Milena Kaler’s motto is “testing – not guessing”. During your initial consultation, your Nutritionist will assess if there may be any requirement for you to have further laboratory testing done to provide scientific evidence about your health and get better understanding of your whole health picture. Milena uses tests that can be done free of charge via your GP, and advanced functional laboratory testing via established private laboratories (the same laboratories used by private GPs).

Follow up Consultations

Follow Up consultation includes:

  • Review and explanation of any test results
  • Review of your progress
  • Updated nutrition plan
  • Updated supplement and lifestyle recommendations
  • Review of your symptoms
  • Addressing any new symptoms
  • Recommendations for further laboratory tests (if needed)

Follow up consultations are an opportunity to ask any questions that are related to your ongoing programme and discuss any changes that you are experiencing. They are very important to keep you motivated and on track.

Most patients benefit from at least one follow up consultation. For complex health issues and weight loss clients, it may be necessary to work together for a longer period of time. Follow up appointments are scheduled every 2-4 weeks.

INDIVIDUALITY

Good nutrition is not as simple as getting the recommended intake of nutrients every day, and it is about having a diet tailored to your unique needs.
Each person is biochemically unique. What works for one person may not work for another. I look at each person as a whole, focusing not only on nutrition and physical health, but also on emotional and mental factors.

UNIQUE SCIENTIFIC AND HOLISTIC APPROACH

Milena Kaler digs deeper and  explores all aspects of your health, on a physiological, physical, and mental/emotional level, to connect the dots between your symptoms and the underlying causes of your weight and/or health issues.

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS

Following the principle “treating people – not disease”, Milena’s approach helps you to get to the root cause of your health and weight loss issues and address the underlying causes instead of simply focusing on the symptoms.

Symptoms seen in isolation may appear to be identical in different people, but the cause of those symptoms may be completely different.
